St. Joseph's House
To address the problem of college student homelessness, DePaul renovated this former Catholic convent to provide safe and stable housing for 24 students. CICADA’s charge was to balance creative interventions that appeal to that demographic within budget constraints.
Sustainability approaches include new systems, a full rooftop solar array, and a bright, generous kitchen for shared meals, and an adjacent lounge that fosters a sense of community.
