Benchmark School’s Innovation Space Ribbon Cutting!

CICADA’s Kurt Raymond and Nana Biney were at the Grand Opening for the Benchmark School’s Innovation Space and Learning Lab in November. Nana was kind enough to bring her camera and share with us scenes from that night.

The space itself is nestled in a bucolic woodland area, with full-length windows and an open porch area, with unencumbered sight lines to allow for a feeling of being a part of the wooded setting that shrouds the Lab. The Lab includes, amongst an incredible array of tools and interactive media, an Ideas Wall where students are encouraged to write their interesting and innovative ideas for others to add to or collaborate and develop in the lab.  Benchmark, a school known for its holistic and inclusive learning approach, has created this Innovation Space for students to truly experiment, experience, and grow their abilities in a variety of remarkable ways.
