Client: Phoenixville Area Economic Development Corporation
Size: 5,000 s.f.
Awards: 2008 Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia Grand Jury Project Award
CICADA Architecture/Planning, Inc. worked with the Phoenixville Area Economic Development Corporation providing full planning and architectural services. The Visitor Center illustrates Phoenixville’s contribution of industrial steel products to the region’s growth and is a jumping-off point for the Schuylkill River Heritage Trail.
The Heritage Center is located in the Phoenix Foundry, a Romanesque building of historical significance. The building and site were renovated for community use. Phoenixville is the industrial reach of the Schuylkill River Heritage Corridor.
The project team, which included Landscape Architects and Exhibit Designers, developed a package of documents that were instrumental in obtaining federal funding under the TEA-21 grant program.
